Holiday Lights in Frederick MD

Capture holiday light displays of a fleet of almost 30 glimmering boats moored in Carroll Creek in Frederick Maryland. During the holidays, the boats are decked for the season with their sail outlines and rigging colorfully lit up for us to photograph and enjoy.

Learn low light techniques and camera settings to capture the incredible light displays without the need for a tripod!  We’ll capture artistic images that you might want to share as holiday cards with friends and family.

Any camera will do but for best results we recommend a DSLR or mirrorless with variable aperture and manual ISO controls. Lens in the range between 28 - 70mm, no tripods, no flash.

FYI - We’ll be walking about a mile on a brick pathway. There will be steps to navigate.
